I am trying to re-locate a newspaper article from about 1888 in which Col. (& judge) W. B. Wood was passing through a town (Columbus GA, if I remember) on legal business, and he granted an interview to a reporter (from an Atlanta paper, as I recall). The article is focused on the drunkenness of a Confederate general, on duty, and the efforts to arouse him and remove him from likely capture, and the curse of drink in the service. Does this ring a bell to any of you and can you help me re-locate this interview source. I believe the general involved was George Crittenden or William Carroll and, and the occasion was either at Corinth of Fishing Creek. Thank you. sjb
